Men's Backpacking Trip

16 miles on the Big Piney Trail!

The Details

Who:

This is a trip for men ages 18 and older

What:

This is a rugged camping experience where you will carry everything you need for a three-day hiking trip. You will need a hiking backpack, tent, sleeping bag, water purification, your own food, and a Bible. For a complete list of supplies for a backpacking trip, visit www.rei.com.

This year there will be an opportunity for you to set up at the base camp and hike out on trails from there; returning to the base camp each night. This will require less backpacking-specific gear, but you will still want to bring everything necessary for a camping trip.

Where:

Big Piney Trail in the Paddy Creek Wilderness of Mark Twain National Forest

When:

Afternoon of Friday, October 18 - Evening of Sunday, October 20

Why:

Life is not a sprint. It is a long-distance struggle that we cannot face alone. We will spend three days pushing our limits physically and spiritually together as men over 15 miles of backpacking the Big Piney Trail outside of Licking, Missouri.

Cost:

$10 for fuel. This can be paid at the church office or bring it the day we leave.
